Pre-Inventory Sale

I haven’t quite put winter out of my thoughts yet – we do live in the mid-west and don’t give up on the possibility of snow until Memorial Day. Yet we are all enjoying the beautiful, sometimes chilly days of Spring. I don’t think I’m alone in not being able to pass up a beautiful flat of flowers or basket brimming with colorful flowers and greens. Looking at the herbs and vegetables and wondering if I can keep them alive until it is warm enough to plant.
The longer, warmer days also seem to boost my energy level. Spring cleaning at home and here at Graphic actually seems appealing. Watching the shows like “Clean Sweep” and “Hoarders” seems to help as well. We have done a few Garage Sales at Graphic to get rid of old stock, damaged paper, discontinued items. The mere mention of it elicits a few groans from some employees. While we may still do a garage sale this year, I would like to move out as much product as possible, as we now do inventory June 30th.
Perhaps a good old fashioned Sale will do in the meantime.

Until June 25th we will be offering fantastic pricing on the following items – this does not include equipment or special orders and is for in-stock only. Additional Discounts don’t apply. Use the code “Inventory” in the message box if ordering on the website or just advise us if ordering by phone. Discounts will be applied when your order is processed. Backorders will be canceled as it does only apply to current stock.

Spring Trade Shows & Specials

Spring seems a far way off and yet “show season’ will be here soon. Graphic attends two major events in the Spring. Southern Graphics Council generally holds their conference in March - this year's conference is in Philadelphia on March 24 - 27th.

Dean and I are looking forward to seeing everyone there - Graphic has been a vendor since SGC’s beginning. We'll bring product to show...a little bit to sell and hopefully, a lot to talk about.

If there are products you want to see, call and ask us to bring them…I can’t promise that we can bring everything - if it’s too big, too heavy, or flammable, we can’t bring it. It is always difficult to decide what products to bring and we’re open to suggestions. Nothing is better than seeing a tool or paper in person.

We also attend the National Art Materials Trade Associations convention (NAMTA). This show is for retailers and suppliers - We usually exhibit, but this year we will walk the show instead. It’s a great place to talk with customers from the retail side of the art materials business, especially when our friends from overseas come as well. We’ll visit our suppliers, looking for products and new ideas.

This month, I am highlighting Books, Videos and DVD’s - 10% off all in stock items through March 30th.** Look for specials on paper this May!

Lascaux Etching, Screen Printing & Painting Supplies Special Offering

Since its founding in 1963, Lascaux has become one of the world’s leading manufacturers of water-based artists’ colours, products used for restoration, Non-toxic Intaglio and other Printmaking processes.

We are pleased to offer Lascaux supplies. The quality of their products and the respect we have for Lascaux makes them a perfect match for the Graphic line of products. During the month of December we will be offering a 20% discount on all current stock. We carry a broad range of Lascaux products. If you don't see what you want, please let us know and we'll be happy to include those items on our next order.

Please go to www.graphicchemical.com and search for Lascaux. You will find the ARE products for Intaglio which is comprised of a unique range of acrylic resists and complementary products used with the resists. The Tusche products are used in light-sensitive printmaking processes and to create washes . The positives can be used with water-based screenprinting, acrylic-resist etching, solar plate printing and other traditional methods. The ready to use tusches are for opaque autographic (hand made) marks on printmaking positives. The tusches may also be used to enhance and alter images on photographic, digital or photocopy positives.

Screenprinters will find a good system for all levels, including the Screenprinting paste, Lascaux Acrylic Transparent Varnishes, Gouache colours, along with Thickener and Retarder. Once proficient with the Lascaux materials, we would suggest the Sirius Watercolour and Sirius Acrylic; both can only be used for translucent printing mixtures. The Watercolour is easier to use than the acrylic. Resonance Gouache is great fun but best for opaques, special needs groups, art therapy and studios that use a lot of paint.
Seasoned users will find the Studio Acrylic to their liking. Bronze acrylics are best used by Advanced printers.

Please mention Lasc12 to receive the discount. No other discounts apply.

INTRODUCTIONS

This is just a brief note to introduce you to my better half - Susan. Susan and I have been married for 35 years, and she's been involved with Graphic Chemical for most of that time.

Susan is a great friend, a wonderful Mother, an even better grandmother, and one heck of a great cook. She's also much younger than I am, as you can see from the photo.

There are a number of things that bear her imprint around Graphic Chemical, but the latest is her maniacal insistence on expanding our paper department, and specifically in the area of Relief papers. We have expanded the line by well over a hundred different papers!

Hopefully you'll get to know her as she shares her ideas and special deals on this page. When we talked about doing competing blogs (I have a head start - as it should be), she did mumble something about only having two hands and only 24 hours in the day, but I'm sure she'll have some great ideas.

Just remember, she's the real boss around here!
